Hovedstaden (Kopenhagen)

The Hovedstaden region around Copenhagen has 157 officially assessed bathing sites. Of these, 144 out of 157 are rated 'excellent' and 13 are rated 'good' – none are rated poor. The character of the region is strongly coastal: 144 coastal sites contrast with 16 lakes, while rivers are absent entirely. Swimmers can therefore expect mostly sea bays and fjord sections, with a smaller number of inland lakes. Current water quality data for all bathing sites in the region is available on nextlake.eu.
