Tyrol has 35 official bathing sites, all located at lakes in an alpine setting. All 35 sites have been officially assessed for water quality. The results are outstanding: 34 out of 35 sites are rated 'excellent', and one is rated 'good'. No site received a 'sufficient' or 'poor' rating. The lakes are typically found in mountain valleys and at higher elevations, often surrounded by forested or rocky slopes.
